The roof of Eurofitness will have, at the end of next year, a system to improve energy efficiency throughout the year in the equipment, specifically in the large pool. This is an initiative that is part of Chess Set Up, a project in which Sant Cugat, Manlleu and Corby (UK) are pilot cities and consists of the implementation of thermal energy storage systems for solar panels to do it serve in moments of less production. All this has been presented this Wednesday at the Smart City Expo World Congress, which takes place in Barcelona until Thursday.

The pavilion that houses the municipal gym has the necessary characteristics to welcome the project: on the one hand, it has an assumable necessity, such as giving heat to the pool, and on the other, a space suitable for placing deposits of accumulation of energy, the basement. Mikel Monclús, of the Urban Ecology Agency of Barcelona, one of the 'partners' of the project, explained the details.
