Green Book on Urban Environment (Volume I and II)

The Ministry of the Environment and the Agency collaborated to draft the Spanish Strategy for Urban Environment, and the first volume of the Green Book, which develops the proposed strategies.

The Green Book on Urban Environment works to combine a more sustainable city model with a knowledge-based city model. The field of urbanism analyzes the large conflicts in the urbanization process, its causes and trends, and it established objectivesand guidelines that are related to the physical structure, the variety of uses, biodiversity, urban metabolism, and social stability. A more sustainable mobility model and public space usage have been addressed.

The foundation of guidelines seek to promote livability, urban complexity, social stability, and the efficiency in resource use. Additionally, a section of urban management has been given strategic dimensions that combine criteria of sustainability and social cohesion.
