The Ministry of Environment and BCNecologia work together in a collaborative framework based on the convergence of interests and objectives. Among the highlights strategic priorities BCNecologia rethinking cities to address two major challenges of the urban environment: sustainability and knowledge.

The collaborative framework has allowed the development referred to the Spanish Strategy for Sustainable Urban and Local, the Urban Environment Strategy and its translation into a programmatic document, the Green Paper on Urban Environment, a work of reference for policymaking in this area. In direct connection with the above initiatives, there is the implementation Ecourbano Internet portal, which includes a training plan with various courses related to these reference documents.

Ecourbano, in operation since late 2006, collects initiatives and projects in cities throughout Spain, analyzes and extracts the key elements in ways that are understandable, regardless of their complexity. Thus it offers users a series of experiences that can be easily reproduced in any context. In short, it adds value to information making Expertise.
